Tasks Dashboard
The Tasks Dashboard is a central location where staff can view and manage tasks for a practice. There have been many enhancements to the Tasks module.
Highlighted Tasks Dashboard Enhancements
- Mark a task as Urgent.
- Creating a new task will default the due date to today's date and time.
- Show or hide inactive patients.
- View who created and last modified a task and the date and time the task was modified.
- View completed tasks and the employee who completed the task.
- Restore completed tasks and move to incomplete.
- View tasks assigned to me only.
- View tasks assigned to more than one employee.
- View only callbacks or to do's.
- Newly created and assigned tasks automatically display (auto-refresh).
- Add, edit, and reassign tasks without leaving the page.
Open Tasks
To view tasks, click on Menu > Tasks.
The total count of overdue tasks displays in the navigation and at the top of the Tasks Dashboard. This number is dynamic and based on the logged in user’s applied filter settings.
Use the tabs to view Incomplete or Completed tasks within the Tasks Dashboard.
- The Incomplete task view displays all active tasks for the practice that have not been completed or deleted.
- The Completed task view displays all tasks for the practice that have been completed.
- Deleted tasks do not display in either view.
Incomplete Task List
The Incomplete task view displays all active tasks for the practice that have not been completed or deleted.
Incomplete tasks, by default, are sorted by the due date in ascending order.
Click the due date drop-down to select a pre-defined date range, rolling date range or a custom date range. The default date range displays tasks that are due seven days in the past to one day in the future from the current date.
Quick Tips:
- Tasks display as Overdue if the due date is one day or more in the past from the current date.
- Tasks that are Urgent display with a red icon.
- Click the employee’s name in the task list to quickly re-assign a task.
- Click the client’s name in the task list to view additional client details, including SMS.
- Click the patient’s name in the task list to view additional patient details, including patient allergies or alerts.
- Click the pre-set filter chips to quickly view Urgent tasks, Overdue tasks, and tasks Assigned to Me.
- Click the task description in the task list to view the entire task description, the employee who created and modified the task, and the date and time.
Completed Task List
The Completed task list displays all tasks for the practice that have been completed. Completed tasks, by default, are sorted by the completed date in ascending order. The date range, by default, displays tasks completed today.
Click the Actions menu to move a completed task back to incomplete.
Filter Tasks
In addition to filtering tasks by date range, options to filter by includes:
- Overdue tasks
- Urgent tasks
- Task type (Callbacks, To Do’s)
- Assigned to employee
- Patient name
- Patient status
- Client name
The counts that display for each filter option are dynamic and are based on the individual user’s applied filter settings.
Applied filters are maintained for the logged in user while the browser session is open.
Creating Tasks
Click the Add Task button to add a Callback or To Do
- Select the To Do or Callback button to define the task type.
- Search for the patient to associate with the task.
- Enter the details of the task in the description.
- Select the Assigned To employee.
- Update the task Due Date if different from the current date and time.
- Check the Urgent checkbox to mark the task as urgent.
Editing Tasks
Select the Actions menu by clicking the vertical ellipsis in the task list and select the Edit Task option.
- Update the details of the task in the description.
- Update the Assigned To employee.
- Update the task Due Date if different from the current date and time.
- Check the Urgent checkbox to mark the task as urgent.
Bulk Updates
Click the checkbox to the left of tasks to apply updates en masse.
Updates in bulk include:
- Move to Completed – marks the selected tasks as complete and does not copy to the patient’s medical record.
- Delete – removes all selected tasks from both the incomplete and completed task lists.
- Reassign – updates the assigned to employee in bulk and allows managing the urgent status.
