Emails are sent using a third party email processor called SendGrid. Listed below are the SendGrid events for emails. The status of emails sent can be viewed by going to the Communication Log for the client, or the Email Dashboard.
1. Processed
SendGrid receives the message and prepares it to be delivered.
2. Deferred
An email cannot immediately be delivered, but it hasn’t been completely rejected. SendGrid will continue to try for 72 hours to deliver a deferred message. After 72 hours, the deferral turns into a block.
3. Bounce
The server cannot deliver a message. Bounces often are caused by outdated or incorrectly entered email addresses.
4. Delivered
The receiving server accepted the message.
5. Opened
The email has been opened by the client.
