The provider assigned to a lab treatment item may not be the doctor that shows on the lab requisition or results. By default, the active provider in the drop-down menu will be the doctor selected on the lab requisition when the lab item is added to a patient's invoice/treatments.
How to fix the provider on the lab requisition?
If the provider on the lab item was invoiced with the wrong active provider and the treatment item has been updated to the correct provider, the doctor on the lab requisition/result will still show incorrectly.
Follow the steps below to fix the lab provider:
1. Remove the lab item.
2. Select the correct provider in the active provider drop-down list.
3. Add the lab item again.
Note: If your practice has previously or currently is using the practice setting to "Enable the primary provider option on patient record?", the doctor that appears on the lab will always default to the primary provider and will ignore the active provider.
