The Ambient Listening feature in Pulse® revolutionizes veterinary documentation by automatically generating SOAP notes from patient appointments. Simply record your consultations, and our AI technology transcribes the conversation and creates a comprehensive, accurate SOAP note, significantly reducing the time spent on administrative tasks. This streamlined workflow allows veterinarians to focus more on patient care and less on paperwork, boosting efficiency and improving overall practice productivity.
The Covetrus AI Ambient Listening feature can be found on the first box of a new exam form. To use our Ambient Listening feature, follow these steps.
- From the patient’s medical record, click the Exam Quick Link.
- Select New Form, then select an Exam Form from the drop-down list.
- Click Start New.
- The Covetrus AI Ambient Listening block appears at the top of the exam form.
- To start, inform the client that you will be recording the session then click the checkbox for consent. The ‘Start Recording’ button will become enabled.
- When you are ready to start recording, click Start Recording.
- As it is recording, the banner will appear as follows.
- You have the option to Cancel the recording which will stop and discard the recording.
- If you would like to pause the recording for some reason (leaving the room, side conversations, etc.) you can click the round microphone button to pause. When you have paused it will appear as a pause button, and you can click it again to continue.
- When you are done recording and ready to submit, click Finish and generate summary.
- After the file has been submitted, you will see a notification on the left side of the banner that a summary is being generated. You can still cancel if you need to. Generation of the summary can take up to 5-7 minutes but usually comes back sooner than that. If you do not see the summary, refresh the page.
Note: Users can navigate away while the summary is being generated if needed without losing the recording.
- After refreshing the page, you will see that the Summary appears on the left side of the banner.
- Click in the first box on the exam form then click the copy/paste button (
). You can then review and update the SOAP note as needed.
- If you want to delete the summary, click the trash can (
).
- When finished, save the exam form.
