Background
- The following configuration applies to .pdf Label Templates configured in eVetPractice. See How do I create a label template? for additional information.
- The below does not apply to the direct DYMO integration using .label files as templates. See Where can I find additional DYMO labels? for information on new label types..
- The following settings only apply to Microsoft Windows.
Microsoft Windows Configuration
Windows 10: Click on the Start button, choose the Settings gear on the left, then Devices, and then Printers & Scanners
From here you would want to access the Printing Preferences page for your DYMO printer or other Label Printer. On Windows 10 you'd click on the printer, then Manage, and then Printing Preferences.
1. First, choose Landscape for the Orientation.
For Twin Turbo devices you can also choose the side that you want your computer to use on the Paper/Quality tab. This will not impact you if you are printing from DYMO's Label Software, it can override this option.
2. Next, click on Advanced and set the size there to match the labels that you are using. For the main Dymo label sizes we recommend they would be as follows:
2 3/4" X 2 1/8" - 30258 Diskette
3 1/10" X 1 4/5" - 30326 Video Top
Once that is selected click OK. This will set the printer up to specifically fit to your labels.
If you are opening the PDF with your Browser instead of Adobe Acrobat, you will also need to change the orientation and size the first time you print a label.
1. Print a label, once the PDF opens in the browser, change the Orientation to Landscape.
2. Click More settings.
3. Change the Paper size to:
2 3/4" X 2 1/8" - 30258 Diskette
3 1/10" X 1 4/5" - 30326 Video Top
Note: If you run a label size other than these two typical sizes, you will need to find out what Dymo or your Label Printer refers to it as (typically a number starting with 30____ and a name, and set your label size accordingly in printer preferences).
4. Click Print.
After you change these settings once, it should retain the settings for future printing.
