Covetrus Pulse can automate the change of a patient's sex to a Neuter or Spay when a designated service or inventory item is paid for upon an invoice closing. You can enable this setting on a service (procedure) or inventory item by accessing the Inventory and Products and Services settings on the Left Pane Navigation Bar. 

To see the Inventory Management system in Covetrus Pulse, you must be logged into one of the following employee roles: Business Manager, Business Owner, Inventory Manager, or Billable Items Manager. 

Enable the setting on an Inventory Item

1. Go to Menu > Inventory > Inventory Management > Inventory.
2. Edit the item by clicking on the pencil icon.
3. Enable the option:  Change patient sex?
4. Click Save.

Note: The patient's sex will change to male neutered, female spayed, gelding, or steer after the item is added to an invoice and a payment is processed for it. 

Enable the setting on a Service Item (Procedure)

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Products and Services > Services.
2. Use the Search by Name or Code or create a new service by clicking on the + Add Service button. 
   • You can click on the blue hyperlink for Name (Internal) to expand the details and settings. 
3. Scroll down to the setting card for Triggered Events
4. Enable the option:  Change Patient Sex?
5. Click Save and Close. 

Note: The patient's sex will change to male neutered, female spayed, gelding, or steer after the item is added to an invoice and a payment is processed for it.
