Some clinics like to have product information, safety guidelines, or best practices for the client to follow after today’s visit that are printed on the invoice. This is great if you want to reduce additional paper printed or even to keep it condensed on the invoice itself.
Client Notes are found in a Billable item's setting can do just that.
You can choose to either:
- Automate by enabling all client notes to be visible and printed on the invoice -

- this is great if your workflow supports this on all items and does not need internal notes on the service / product to be used.

- Manage it manually at the line item level -

- this is great if you do have internal notes that you do not want visible and only need a few item client notes to be visible on the invoice.

To automate and have it printed by default follow the instructions below:
- Go to Menu > Settings > Practice Setup > General.
- Expand Medical Record Settings.
- Enable the option By default, should treatment comments be printed on the invoice?
- Click Save.
To edit the billable item’s settings to enable Client Notes follow the instructions below:
- Edit the billable item and enable the option Has Client Notes and enter the text that you would like to have appear on the invoice.
- Click Save.
- Be aware that there is a 4,000 character limit for the item to generate the text. Use 4,000 or less to get the best result. To find out your character limit, you can use a word processor or search online for a character counter website.

During your Treatment charges, you will be able to see the Client Note once it's clicked on. The Comments should be the Client Note you typed. Remember you can control it printing on invoice by the Include comments on invoice checkbox?
