Question: How to set up and use the Heska lab integration?
Heska offers a one way integration with eVetPractice. Lab results are imported directly into the patient's medical records based on the patient ID. This integration requires that the HesakView software be installed by your Heska representative and eVetPractice support will assist with installing the eVetPractice FileWatcher.
To enable this integration:
1. Navigate to the General settings > Integration Settings > and select "Enable In House Lab Integration"
2. Create lab items and enable the setting "Is Integrated Lab Item?"
Due to the one-way integration, you are not required to submit a lab order when invoicing a lab item. As long as the correct patient ID is used and the eVetPractice FileWatcher is running, results will be imported to the medical record.
