There are different methods depending on the browser being used. These actions are controlled by each browser and the program does not control these settings. It is the practice's responsibility to enable these options.
Chrome
- Open a new tab in the browser and enter
chrome://settings/ - In the search settings at the top enter PDF.
- Open Site settings.
- Open Additional Content Settings in the list if it is not expanded.
- Click on PDF Documents and select Open PDFs in Chrome.
Edge
- Go to the Settings and more option at the top right hand corner of the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- In the Search column on the left, select Downloads.
- Toggle the option for Ask me what to do with each download.
Firefox - has two options to access setting
- Go to the Application menu on the top right hand corner of the browser.
- Select Settings.
- Enter PDF in the Find in Settings search option at the top right of the settings screen.
- In the Application List, locate Portable Document Format (PDF).
- In the Action column, use the drop down button to select Open in Firefox.
OR
- Open a new tab in the browser.
- In the URL bar, enter about:preferences#general.
- Enter PDF in the Find in Settings search menu at the top right of the settings screen.
- In the Application List, locate Portable Document Format (PDF).
- In the Action column, use the drop-down button to select Open in Firefox.
