Question: How do I address pending IDEXX Reference lab order alerts when results are already assigned to patients?
Answer:
You may notice a pending lab order alert is still showing for a patient that may have received their final results. IDEXX Reference lab orders are submitted with a unique requisition ID. The result may be found attached to a previously submitted lab order or unassigned on the lab dashboard. This can occur based on how the lab order was submitted to IDEXX or when the lab result was processed.
Known Causes:
- Ordering through VetConnectPlus online
- Submitting a handwritten order
- Submitting an add-on by phone or online
- Submitting orders with different turnaround times (ex. Cytology and Senior Screen)
- IDEXX Reference lab alters/updates the requisition ID
Solution:
Once you have verified that the final lab results are in the patient file you can delete the pending lab order from the pets medical record under the MR View By Groups tab.
